Over Christmas break I took an afternoon to interview my adult daughter, Rachel Doerneman, about her first semester as a FOCUS Missionary.
FOCUS, “Fellowship of Catholic University Students,” is a unique program that places graduated college students BACK onto college campuses with the trifecta goal:
We win the hearts of college students, build them up in the faith and send them out into the world.
How, exactly, is that done? THAT is what I wanted to know. I mean, it sounds great on paper. “Go out and win the hearts of college students.”
But what does it look like in real time?
In this interview, Rachel and I sat down and got deep into the nitty gritty. I learned a lot.
You will love this girl. She is my favorite Focus Missionary of all time.
If you’d like to read the first blog about this daughter of mine, you can find that at Rachel’s Spiritual Journey.
Finally, I love love love this time of year, when we make the time to really think about our lives. What went well last year? What can we rearrange?
I always go back to my vocation of motherhood. I want to keep striving to deepen my relationship with my growing children.
One of the ways I do that is by spending intentional time with my daughters. If you would like to create a deeper bond with your daughter (aged 6-16) then take The Daughter Dare. I created it for fun and for free.
